Seagull

A cold beer and harbour traffic passing right by.

A two-story building with a wooden upper level and a stone lower level stands on a paved street at sunset. A sign on the upper level lists food and drink options, and a wooden carving on the lower level features a ship and a name. A mural with colorful figures is painted on the wall beside the entrance. A metal fence encloses a rooftop area with a blue tarp, and a green door is visible on the side. Palm trees line the street, and a vehicle is parked in the distance under a cloudy sky with the sun low on the horizon.

Seagull is a waterside bar and restaurant on Calvetty Road in Fort Kochi, next to Pepper House and near the Indian Coast Guard office. It is open every day from 11am to 10pm.

Tables by the pier look straight onto the port, so you can watch the harbour traffic go past while you eat. Visitors mention a long wait for food at busy times. Visitors order the king fish masala fry, parotta and butter chicken. One visitor recommends the crab curry, and a server helps with the shell. Another found the beef fry and prawns expensive for the portion size.

The building was once the home and workshop of a French rosewood exporter, C J Revel. V S Krishnan later converted it into the hotel and restaurant that stands there now.
