Customs Boat Jetty

Six rupees to Ernakulam, about every fifteen minutes, and cash only.

A white building with a triangular pediment and a clock at the top center. Below the clock is a long horizontal fixture with metal bars. A rectangular sign is mounted above a wide wooden doorway with double doors open inward. Three short, cylindrical stone bollards stand on the paved ground in front of the entrance. The interior is a long, covered corridor supported by wooden pillars, receding into shadow. A vertical banner is partially visible on the left side, and a blue informational board is mounted on the right wall. Trees with green leaves are visible above the roofline.

The jetty on Calvetty Road that the government ferries run from, and the cheapest way off the peninsula. Boats cross to Ernakulam, landing near Subhash Park, roughly every ten to twenty minutes from five in the morning until ten at night, for ₹6. There is no card machine and no app — bring cash. A second service crosses to Vypin. These ferries are slower and plainer than the Water Metro, and a fraction of the price.
