Peter Celli Street
Named for petercelie, Dutch for parsley — Fort Kochi’s literal old street names.
Peter Celli Street runs one street behind Princess Street, past the back of Santa Cruz Basilica in Fort Kochi. Its name comes from petercelie, the Dutch word for parsley — preserving the literal, trade-era naming system where streets were identified by trees, animals, occupations, or everyday goods. The street has a Google Places entry and multiple photographs on its page.
