Chez Teapot
A 400-year-old Anglo-Indian house, with cats who live in the building.
Chez Teapot is a quiet café in Fort Kochi, open daily from 8:30am to 10pm. Visitors describe a calm room where you can sit for hours, alone or with company. The entrance is covered in creeping plants, and the host and the waitress are described as attentive.
Visitors order the chocolate cake, the hot chocolate and the grilled chicken sandwich. One visitor found the blueberry cheesecake good on the first visit and hard in texture on a later one, when its price had risen from ₹160 to ₹220. Ginger tea was strong for one drinker, while the jasmine tea was light.
Some dishes are not always there. One breakfast visitor found the avocado toast off the menu in avocado season, and a strawberry cheesecake on the board was not available on one visit. Check the menu before you order a special. Scrambled eggs with brown toast were average for one visitor, though the coffee was good.
