The Water is Coming: How We Can Protect Fort Kochi Together
Imagine waking up to find the sea inside your living room. For many of our neighbors in coastal areas, this isn’t a dream—it is what happens every time the tide comes in. Our climate is changing, and the sea is pushing harder against our shores. Should we just watch it happen?
A Plan for Our Homes This workshop, hosted by the Grassroute team, focuses on real, low-cost ways to keep our houses dry and our families safe. They will talk about two main ways to help:
- Using Nature: Planting mangroves and restoring wetlands. These act like a natural sponge and a wall to slow down the water.
- Smart Building: Learning how to lift floors or use materials that water cannot ruin.
Simple Steps, Big Changes It isn't just about big walls. We will also learn how to keep our drains clean and how to save rainwater. We will even practice how to stay safe and communicate when a big storm hits.
Join me and the cats at the ABC Art Room This event is open to everyone. Whether you are a student, a parent, or just someone who loves the sea, your meows matters.
