Mullakkal Vana Durga Temple

A temple to Vana Durga in the Mattancherry lanes.

A paved walkway passes beneath an ornate gateway flanked by large, colorful statues of deities. The central figure atop the arch is blue-skinned, while figures on either side stand on pillars, one red-skinned and one blue-skinned, each with multiple arms and elaborate headdresses. A dark horizontal beam spans the top of the archway, bearing text in a non-Latin script. The path continues between cream-colored walls topped with dark tiles, lined with green trees and palm fronds under a bright sky. Overhead wires cross above the entrance.
