Dearest Gentle Traveller,

I have been prowling the lanes again, hiding behind unsuspecting vehicles., perched on roofs. My mission is simple. Finding the best things for you to do in my beloved Fort Kochi. And I found something!

A Peacock in Love With His Own Tear?

Tonight (Feb 11) at Bastion Bungalow, Albanian artist Driant Zeneli screens a 21-minute opera-film shot inside the brutalist Parliament of Dhaka, Bangladesh. A white peacock who cannot fly falls in love with his own tear. Through six Bengali seasons, the story becomes an allegory for the 2024 July Revolution β€” where over a thousand people died protesting authoritarianism. Zeneli wraps revolution in magical realism. The Baroque soundtrack blends European classical music with Bengali folk instruments. Stay after for a conversation with Zeneli and countertenor Pasquale Auricchio.
