Where Memories Are Immured

The playground has turned into a battlefield. Five artists from Aligarh Muslim University create a poignant installation asking: did I do something wrong, Mother?

I was told the world is beautiful and that I should be kind. But when I needed help, when I had no voice, no one came for me. The playground has turned into a battlefield.

About

Where Memories Are Immured is a haunting mixed-media installation by the Free Thinkers Collective—five artists from Aligarh Muslim University. Their words carry the weight of innocence confronting harsh realities:

"Every day feels like struggle and suffering. People say this is how the world works, but it feels unfair and confusing to me. Sometimes I wonder if I am being punished for something I don't even know. Did I do something wrong, Mother? Where was my fault in all of this?"

The collective transforms these questions into spatial experience. Memories are immured: walled up, sealed away, yet somehow still speaking.
