Local Cat's Guide to Fort Kochi's Cafés
Greetings, humans! As Fort Kochi's self proclaimed resident café cat, I spend my days prowling between the best coffee, food spots in town, napping in sunny windowsills, and observing your peculiar two-legged behaviors. Today, I'll share my insider knowledge of the most paw-some cafés this historic port city has to offer!
BOBO Petcafe: A Haven for Your Furry Friends
Listen up, pet parents! As a cat of discerning taste, I must say BOBO Petcafe on Vadathazha Lane is simply delightful. Not only can you bring your four-legged companions (yes, even those silly dogs), but you'll also enjoy air conditioning, games, and a wonderful book collection. The humans seem particularly fond of their coffee, though personally, I prefer their comfy cushions. They also have pet boarding! So you can leave the dogs there before you come home to serve me. Meow.
The Artsy Corner: Kashi & Lila
Want to impress your Instagram followers? My artistic friends, head straight to Kashi art café or Lila. While I enjoy knocking over paint brushes at both establishments, you'll appreciate their stunning art galleries. Kashi offers delectable vegan options (though I'm strictly carnivorous myself), and Lila's Wi-Fi keeps all you digital nomads purring with contentment.
Beat the Heat at Trouvaillle
When my fur coat becomes too much in the Kerala heat, I slink over to Trouvaillle. Their air conditioning is heavenly, and the Wi-Fi never fails - perfect for you humans and your endless Doom (oops Zoom) calls. The staff occasionally shoos me away from laptop keyboards, but I forgive them because their coffee smells divine.
Eco-Warriors' Paradise: Loving Earth
Even though I don't understand why anyone would choose plants over fish, my vegan human friends absolutely adore Loving Earth. Their sustainable approach to food seems to make you two-legged creatures very happy. Plus, their outdoor seating offers excellent bird-watching opportunities (strictly for entertainment purposes, of course). Occasionally you can also see a group of hoomans making funny cat like poses in what they call Yoga(?)
The Music Scene: Pandhal
Sometimes I like to practice my midnight vocals at Pandhal. They have actual musicians too, which you humans seem to prefer. The combination of art, music, and food makes it a cultural hotspot - though I wish they'd let me join in with the performers occasionally.
Quick Bites: French Toast & Canvas
When you're in a hurry (a concept I frankly don't understand), both French Toast and Canvas offer excellent coffee and satisfying pizzas & french toasts. I particularly enjoy watching the breakfast crowd at French Toast - so many dropped crumbs to investigate! The wood fired pizzas at canvas rate highly among fellow feline friends.
A Cat's Guide to Navigation
All these cafés are within easy prowling distance, even for you humans who lack our superior navigational abilities. They're scattered around the historic streets of Fort Kochi, from Princess Street to Parade Road. Just follow your nose (or Google Maps, since you can't smell coffee from three blocks away like I can).
Pro Tips from a Professional Lounger
- Most cafés open around 8:30 AM - perfect for early birds (my favorite!)
- BOBO Petcafe is your best bet if you're traveling with pets
- For digital nomads, Trouvaillle, and Lila offer the most reliable Wi-Fi
- Art lovers should definitely check out David Hall (Pandhal), Kashi and Lila's galleries
- Vegans will find their paradise at Loving Earth and Kashi
Final Purr-spective
While I may not understand your human obsession with coffee (catnip is clearly superior), these cafés offer something for everyone. Whether you're a digital nomad, art enthusiast, pet parent, or just someone in need of a good meal, Fort Kochi's café scene has you covered.
Remember to tip your waiters - they work hard to keep these spaces as comfortable as my favorite sunbathing spots!
Yours truly,
